At Black Betty, we aim to achieve a level of personalisation that is one of a kind where we offer you the opportunity to be involved throughout the whole design process.
We have collaborated with six different individualists, curating a level of personalisation. Each individual had the opportunity to showcase their unique story through their bespoke piece, allowing for them to express their talents, creative vision, and unique style.
Zander Opperman
A rare kind of mischief with a distinctive style that conforms to none, Zander Opperman's photography has gathered the attention of various widely recognised brands and publications. His portfolio captures the lookbooks of habitual clients like Levi's and Jeep footwear. Unreserved from his clean and minimal style, Zander's photography captures the essence of a raw sense of emotion; fearlessly inspiring through individuality and rarity.
He embraces finding the beauty of something that one wouldn't necessarily find beautiful - not following conventional beauty norms.

No holds barred; there's no permission needed for The Misfit, who dances to the beat of their own drum. Born to stand out, The Misfit is a rare kind of mischief with a distinctive style that conforms to none, fearlessly inspiring through individuality and rarity, possessing a deep sense of the raw, unfiltered, unapologetic self. We asked Zander how he perceives what it means to be a misfit:
"What it means to me to be a misfit? I think embracing your flaws means not fighting against who you are as a person."
Zander's Bread Tag

This bespoke collaboration is a shared appreciation of inspiration behind taking a familiar object that is often overlooked and making it valuable.
Cast in Silver or Gold, Zander's Bread Tag Necklace is a personalized token designed for its wearer to engrave with their own sentiment when ordering the piece or alternatively to be adorned as a huggie.
“I made a bread tag for the jewellery piece. I really liked trying to use something that wasn't a normal piece of jewellery. I saw this photo of a bread tag and honestly, I don't know why I liked it. "
A happy accident
After printing the initial casted Bread Tag a little too big, Zander had the idea of adding a third product to The Misfit Collection, and Bane - Zander's dog - received a Bread Tag piece for himself.
The Bread Tag Pendant is available for purchase with the option to personalise with your own engraving.
Zander took a liking to the idea that the whole world knows what a bread tag is; they see it every day but don't ever pay attention to or think twice about it.
Zander's Bread Tag Necklace, Huggie can be bought in both Silver and 9kt Yellow Gold, whereas the Pendant can only be bought in Silver.
