Black Betty's studios use the safest and cleanest, hypoallergenic and body-safe jewellery for piercing. Choose from the highest implant grade titanium or 14 karat gold. We use these metals due to their body bio-compatibility, meaning there is almost no chance of a reaction between your body and our jewels.

We use a flat back labret for our piercings, instead of a butterfly. Labrets are the most suitable, hygienic and comfortable form of jewellery for a fresh piercing.

We only use single-use needles to ensure the most precise and sterile piercing, which is disposed of with our medical waste company.

Tools and jewellery are chemically sterilized, packaged and autoclaved at 132 degrees celsius to ensure sterility.

Our piercers are highly experienced and expert curators. We take great care in securing the best and most professional individuals. When you book an appointment, you'll have ample time with our expert curators, with an optional consultation with our piercers to discuss jewellery and piercing placements that will best suit your anatomy.

You must be over the age of 10 to get pierced. We enforce this age cut-off to ensure the child getting pierced is mature enough to understand the piercing and healing process.

Please note we do not allow more than one client into the piercing room at any one time. You are welcome to bring a friend, however they will not be able to come into the piercing room with you. 

We can pierce a maximum of 3 piercings per session, however every body is different and our piercers will give you advice on what will be best for you during your consultation.

We will not pierce individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding as well as those who have recently undergone a surgical procedure.

Lobe | this refers to the soft lower section of the ear, which lends itself to any combination or hoops, studs, drops & sleepers.

Antitragus | this part of the ear, opposite the tragus, is a piece of cartilidge suited for a ring

Conch | this sits on the middle part of the inside of your ear. Rings or studs can be placed here.

Helix | the inside ridge of the top cartilage of your ear is pierced lending itself to both loops and studs.

Rook | the top part of your ear just above the forward helix, perfect for a stud or a large ring.

Forward Helix | the piece of cartilage bewteen the rook and daith, perfect for a stud.

Daith | a Black Betty favourite, where a ring looks perfect in the centre of the ear

Tragus | the cartilige that sits in front of the ear canal, a great home for any type of piercing jewel.
