Join us at the Black Betty Collective Space for an intimate Ceremonial Listening Experience — an evening created around the simple act of slowing down and listening.
At the centre of the evening is Kapula aka Nyauist, a Cape Town-based Zimbabwean vinyl selector, DJ and sound artist whose sets move across time, place and culture, weaving sounds from Samba, Cumbia and Afro Funk to High Life, Disco, House and AfroBeat.
For LISTEN., Kapula will curate an immersive journey on vinyl, inviting just 20 guests to settle in, switch off and experience sound differently.
Around the music, the evening unfolds through ceremonial tea, beauty rituals, jewellery, piercing, permanent bracelets and moments of connection.

Kapula aka Nyauist
A sonically fearless vinyl selector and sound artist, Kapula's work explores the relationship between music, culture, memory and heritage. His current work includes ASTRO Sonic Trails, an evolving vinyl-driven installation exploring Black sonic legacies and African heritage through archival digging and crate culture.
For this evening, he takes us on a carefully curated listening journey, experienced together from beginning to end.
